International Pancreatic Cancer Center

The International Pancreatic Cancer Center was set up in 2007 through a joint initiative of the Freiburg Tumor Biology Center and the Division of General and Visceral Surgery of the University of Freiburg Medical Center under the umbrella of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg (CCCF).

The unique feature of this interdisciplinary organ center is its openness to all patients with a histologically confirmed or diffuse pancreatic tumor of any stage. The modular character of our services allows you as the patient to choose from a wide range of traditional and additional forms of therapy.

The aim of the International Pancreatic Cancer Center is to offer our patients the expertise of renowned specialists in diagnostics, surgical and medical treatment, but also complementary therapies of the highest academic standard.

In the Center, physicians with years of experience in endoscopy are complemented by experienced radiologists versed in diagnostics, highly skilled surgeons particularly experienced in the field of pancreatic surgery together with medical oncologists and radiotherapists. In addition, a wide spectrum of additional clinical and complementary treatments, psycho-oncology, pain therapy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation is available through the Tumour Biology Center.

The Center plays an intensive part in the international research of pancreatic cancer; its service provisions thus consistently reflect the most up-to-date standard of scientific knowledge.

As part of your introductory visit to our Center, you will be seen in the Interdisciplinary Consultation by both an oncologist and a surgeon and thus receive comprehensive advice and guidance.

In line with the guidelines of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg, each patient's case will also be discussed by leading specialists in a tumor conference and a treatment recommendation will be mutually agreed upon..

For comprehensive advice and treatment, you as the patient thus have full access not only to the entire service spectrum of the University of Freiburg Medical Center, but also to that of the Freiburg Tumor Biology Center.
